Resolve issue with a legacy system

Surf and Ski is a retailer of outdoor sport clothed and equipment is had two stores in Brighton and Reigate.

After power cut, the in-store tills had stopped communicating properly with the server that recorded sales and updated the tills with new stock.

What may have been a simple problem to solve was then complicated by various outsider 'experts' reinstalling out of date, undocumented bespoke computer software. As a result the tills did not recognised items of stock that had been added after the power cut.

When Greentree investigated the system we found that it had been commercially unavailable for some 15 years and as a result there was no documentation whatsoever as to how the system should work.

By analysing the computer code and figuring out how the system worked we were able to find where (in this case ) the software was overlapping.

After a couple of changes and bug fixes the software returned to normal functionality saving the Surf and Ski Staff hours of extra work and frustration.
